Strauss-Kahn bedded three in last hurrah: reports

Former world finance boss Dominique Strauss-Kahn had sex with three women the same weekend he allegedly assaulted a New York hotel maid, it has been reported.

The disgraced former International Monetary Fund chief, who is due back in court tomorrow to answer charges he sexually assaulted the New York hotel maid on May 14, reportedly confessed to his wife that he bedded the three women in a last hurrah before the French presidential race.

"So it wasn't just one for the road before the presidential campaign," a friend of his wife, Anne Sinclair, told French magazine Le Point.
"It was three."

Strauss-Kahn's lawyers say he will plead not guilty to the sexual assault charges.

While his legal team expects the 62-year-old to be fully exonerated, a series of new claims paint an ugly
picture of the man who was once tipped to beat French President Nicolas Sarkozy next year.

According to one media report, Strauss-Kahn tried to coax a hotel receptionist up to his room for champagne when he checked in to his Manhattan hotel on May 13.

When that didn't work, he reportedly invited a mystery woman who works in banking to his room.

The woman was spotted on surveillance video at the hotel with Strauss-Khan about 1.30am on May 14 and left around 3am, the New York Post reported.

The New York Times claims the woman was identified, but declined to speak with investigators.

The hotel maid claims she went to Strauss-Kahn's suite later that morning and was attacked about noon.

Aside from the criminal charges, Strauss-Kahn is also battling a scandal at home, as French prosecutors have launched an inquiry into a female novelist's claim that the financier tried to rape her in a Paris apartment in 2003.

Tristane Banon, 32, has claimed Strauss-Kahn tried to unhook her bra and open her jeans during an interview for a book she was writing.

Banon recounted the alleged attack with a French newspaper last week, and her lawyer claims there is "physical evidence" of an attack.

But Strauss-Kahn's French lawyer says he is considering suing Baton for "slanderous denunciation".

While Baton's claims appear to have hurt Strauss-Kahn's political credentials at home, his wife has hit back at the rape claims.

"Dominique has never been violent with anyone," Sinclair told friends, according to Britain's Sun-day Times newspaper.

"Even the children, he never smacked them. He's a seducer, not a rapist."
